Artists in Residence

The Chinati Foundation’s Artist in Residence Program was instituted in 1989 with the aim of supporting the development of artists of diverse ages, backgrounds, and disciplines. Many participants elect to hold an open studio, give a public talk, or create an installation while at Chinati. These presentations are an important part of the museum’s annual exhibitions and programming. To date, over 170 artists from around the world have resided at Chinati.

2024 is fully scheduled.

The Chinati Foundation’s Artist in Residence Program is generously supported by the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation.
