The Chinati Foundation is pleased to offer its newest membership benefit—a stunning lithograph by artist Kate Shepherd—to renewing $1,000 members and new members who join at that level.
Shepherd's print, entitled Circling Around Yellow, Bigmouth, was printed by Axelle Editions, NY in an edition of 100. While the general format or "scheme" of the print never changes over the course of the 100 impressions, Shepherd has used subtle variations in composition, hue, tone, and ink density to make each print unique. Shepherd is a New York-based painter who has been exhibiting nationally and internationally since the mid-1990s. Her work is represented in the public collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo; the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the New York Public Library, and many others. From June to September 2010, new work by Shepherd will be on view at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. as part of the series "Intersections," which invites artists to respond to the museum's artworks and spaces.
