General Internship

Participants work closely with visitor services, education, administrative, and other museum staff. The internship affords a broad, overall understanding of the workings of the museum and provides valuable experience for future careers in contemporary art.

Throughout their stay, interns live and work with the permanent collection and are provided with resources and training to further their understanding of Chinati's mission and philosophy. Responsibilities include working in public affairs, archives, and office administration, as well as leading collection tours and assisting with special events. Other projects are assigned in accordance with individual skills and the needs and schedule of the museum.

A bachelor's degree is preferred in art, art history, architecture, or a related field. Applications accepted by email only. The next available General Internship will begin in July, 2013.
