Reservations In order to accommodate all requests to join tours of our collection, we prefer that you make reservations at least three days in advance of your visit by calling Takako Tanabe, our Collection Tours & Education Associate at 432 729 4362, or email us at: tours@chinati.org to guarantee admission on a tour. To schedule tours for large groups (7 + people), a reservation is required; please call or email the museum office at least two weeks in advance. In order to see the collection in a contemplative atmoshere and to safeguard our collection, tour group sizes are limited. If we surpass the number of reservations we are able to accommodate on our tours, all other visitors may need to be placed on a waiting list. In this case we will reschedule you for the next available tour. You may also schedule a tour online using our online reservation form. Holiday time periods: Reservations required. June 30-July 4, 2010 (July 4th closed). November 24-28, 2010 (Thanksgiving Day closed). December 22-26, 2010 (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day closed). December 29-January 2, 2011 (New Year's Eve and New Year's Day closed).
During high season when we receive many more visitors than usual, it is necessary to make a reservation to join a tour of our collection in advance. Tour reservations will be honored in the order they are received until we reach full tour capacity.
Visitors should wear footwear that is both comfortable and protective. Open-toe sandals and shoes are not recommended. People who have difficulty walking or need special assistance may contact the museum in advance to make special arrangements. From May through September, temperatures can reach 100°F. From October through April, temperatures fluctuate between 30° and 75°F. Hats, sunglasses, and sun block are always recommended. No pets are allowed anywhere on the Chinati Foundation collection grounds. If you are traveling with any pets you may keep them in your cars in our public parking lot, or tied to a tree in our parking lot, while you are on tour. Thank you for your cooperation. *Please contact the Judd Foundation for tours of their collection. |
